What is SIP?

These systems were not designed to allow small businesses to scale up slowly. It was either 23 lines or nothing. This meant that small businesses were left with many unnecessary lines.
The PBX (Private Branch Exchange) is the second component of a legacy telephone system. This is an internal phone network within an organization. The PBX includes all the usual phone features, such as voicemail, call forwarding, voicemail, transferring, and calling within the company. PBX can also handle external calls.
SIP trunks have replaced PRI
SIP uses similar concepts, but the calls are made over the internet instead of regular phone networks. But, again, because you remove the phone company from the equation, you don’t have to use the PRI of a phone network.
SIP trunks have replaced PRI, which routes calls to the public switched phone network.
SIP’s primary function is to initiate and terminate data transmissions. This can take the form of voice calls, instant messages, or video chats.
A SIP account or address is required. You can get one free of charge. After creating an account, you will need to install a SIP client onto a device such as a computer or mobile phone.
The call will be initiated by SIP. Next, the call will be routed to your servers. There, the SIP trunk will forward the call to your business network. Finally, the call will be routed to its destination.
SIP will end the call when the call is over.
